Whiskey Bidders: Sales History & Statistics

Whiskey Bidders is a dynamic and secure online whiskey auction platform, primarily focused on Irish and world whiskeys. Founded with over 30 years of combined experience in the drinks and auction industries, the platform offers a unique blend of passion, knowledge, and understanding of Irish whiskey and the whiskey marketplace. The platform conducts approximately 10-12 live auctions annually, beginning in June 2021. Each auction lasts around 9 days, allowing participants to place bids at any time during this period. Participants must be registered, which is a straightforward and free process. The registration allows them to either sell their bottles or place bids in the auctions.

Bidders have the option of making incremental bids or entering a maximum bid for a lot. The system automatically increments bids until reaching the bidder's maximum limit. Notably, the auctions have a unique closing mechanism. If no bids are placed in the final 10 minutes before 7 pm (local time) on the closing day, the lot closes. However, if a bid is placed during this period, the closing time resets to 10 minutes, ensuring fair chances for all bidders.

Winners of the auction lots are promptly notified via email and provided with a payment link. Payments can be made through Stripe or bank transfer, and shipping charges apply unless the order is collected from their office​.

The auctions feature a diverse range of whiskeys, from aged whiskeys of various vintages to rare finds like a 1931-distilled Jameson 'JJ&S' bottled in 1969. The selection includes offerings from most Irish distilleries, as well as intriguing whiskey sets and Scotch bottles, catering to a broad spectrum of whiskey enthusiasts, from investors to casual collectors.
