The Ardbeg Perpetuum Bicentenary Release, a single malt whisky, was launched in 2015 to mark the 200-year milestone of the Ardbeg Distillery. Distinguishing itself from other distillery releases, it features a slightly lower Alcohol By Volume (ABV) of 47.4%.
Characterized by a blend of old and young whiskies, the Perpetuum is matured in both bourbon and sherry casks. This production process links the distillery's heritage with forward-looking innovations, resonating with the meaning of 'Perpetuum' — 'never ending'.
As part of the Distillery Bottling Limited Edition series, this release included 72,000 bottles distributed globally. Initially introduced at the Feis Ile, the Perpetuum later became available at various Ardbeg embassies.
A unique attribute of the Ardbeg Perpetuum Bicentenary Release is the inclusion of the engraved signatures of Dr. Bill Lumsden and Brendan McCarron on the bottle, acknowledging their contributions to Ardbeg's enduring legacy.
