Chichibu Paris Edition 2018
The Chichibu Paris Edition 2018 is a limited release single malt whisky created to commemorate the 160th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and Japan. Produced by the Chichibu Distillery, founded in 2007 by Ichiro Akuto, this expression has been crafted using two varieties of barley and aged in a unique combination of casks. The maturation process involved five barrels in total: three ex-whisky casks with Mizunara heads and two new oak casks sourced from France. This distinctive approach to cask selection and maturation resulted in an expressive and complex whisky with a rich flavour profile. Bottled at cask strength of 57.3% ABV, the Paris Edition 2018 is limited to 1,357 bottles, making it a highly sought-after collector's item.
