The Highland Park 17 Year Old 'The Light' is a part of the distillery's innovative series that draws inspiration from the changing seasons on the Orkney island. This particular expression pays homage to the brighter months of Spring and Summer, standing in contrast to its counterpart, 'The Dark', which represented the Autumn and Winter seasons. A significant feature of 'The Light' is its maturation in refill American oak casks, which are known to have a subtler influence compared to first-fill casks, thus ensuring the spirit's distinct character shines through.
