The Midleton Very Rare 1987 is part of an annual series of limited-release whiskies that began in 1984. The blend, created by Jameson's Master Distiller Barry Crockett, includes whiskies aged from 12 to 20 years and matured in Bourbon casks. The 1987 release is notable for containing whiskey from both the operational New Midleton Distillery and the no longer active Old Midleton Distillery. Each bottle is individually numbered and features the signature of the Master Distiller, which serves as a mark of authenticity.
