Distilled in September 1939, and bottled in September 2015, this whisky is noted for its long maturation period in a first-fill Sherry butt cask, numbered 2475. The release, labeled as 'Final Release', is limited to 100 bottles, each with a volume of 700 ml and an alcohol strength of 44.4% Vol.
The presentation of the Mortlach 1939 includes a Glencairn crystal decanter, each featuring 75 hand-carved grooves to represent the years of maturation. The decanter is set on a white plinth and is accompanied by two crystal glasses. A book authored by Charles Maclean and Alexander McCall Smith is also included, providing context on the history of Scotch whisky and the Mortlach distillery.
