The Old Rip Van Winkle 25 Year Old Decanter, a bourbon distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2017, underwent a 25-year maturation process. This release, limited to 710 bottles, is notable for its rarity among whisky collectors. The bourbon was initially aged in a metal-clad warehouse at Stitzel-Weller for 13 years, after which, in 2002, the barrels were transferred to Buffalo Trace to continue maturing until 2014. Subsequently, to maintain its characteristics, the bourbon was stored in stainless steel tanks until bottling.
