Originating from the Orkney Islands, the Scapa 16 Year Old, often referred to as 'The Orcadian,' is a Single Malt Scotch Whisky produced by Scapa Distillery. Introduced in 2008, it replaced the distillery's 14-year-old expression.
This 16-year-old whisky forms part of the Orcadian series. As a distillery bottling, it is indicative of the authentic craftsmanship inherent in Scapa's whisky production process. Notably, its maturation in ex-bourbon casks contributes to its distinct character.
Despite its discontinuation, the Scapa 16 Year Old remains of interest to whisky collectors and investors due to its limited availability. Its introduction marked an improvement in Scapa Distillery's whisky offerings, succeeding the previous 12 and 14-year-old versions.
