The Last Drop 50 Year Old, bottled at 700 ml with an alcohol strength of 51.8% ABV, is a blend of over fifty different malt and grain Scotch whiskies, some originating from distilleries that have since ceased operations. The whisky was initially matured for 30 years before being transferred to seven Oloroso sherry hogsheads for an additional 20 years, resulting in a total aging period of 50 years. It was bottled in 2015 by The Last Drop Distillers Limited (LDDL) and is limited to 898 bottles.
Each bottle is packaged in a leather case and includes a 50ml miniature, allowing the whisky to be sampled without opening the main bottle. This release represents a significant part of whisky history, reflecting the craftsmanship and expertise of The Last Drop Distillers Limited.
