Arran Smugglers' Series - Volume One - The Illicit Stills

This edition is a limited release of 8,700 bottles. Its composition includes a blend of Arran single malt whiskies, comprising peated and unpeated stocks. Unpeated whisky matured in Port Pipes and Sherry Hogsheads, whereas peated whisky was stored in barrels, with peatiness levels varying between 14ppm and 50ppm. This blend results in a whisky with a substantial body and increased peat influence, reflecting the style of whisky historically produced on the island.

The packaging features a book-style case with a hollowed-out compartment, a design that harkens back to the clandestine methods employed by the island's whisky smugglers. The traditional labeling on the bottle further complements this historical nod.

The Illicit Stills is not only representative of the distillation techniques of the Arran Distillery but also pays tribute to the unique history of the Isle of Arran. As a result, it holds a distinctive position in the whisky collectors' domain and offers an engaging historical narrative for whisky enthusiasts.
