The Macallan 40 Year Old is a distinguished member of The Red Collection, showcasing a lineage that includes rare vintages aged 40, 50, 60, 71, 74, and 78 years, some of the oldest whiskies ever bottled by the distillery. Launched in October 2020, this collection pays tribute to the importance of the colour red in Macallan's heritage, from the founder's name, Alexander Reid, meaning "the red one," to vintage bottles marked with red ribbons in the 1980s.
