Port Charlotte PC9 - An Ataireachd Ard is a heavily peated Islay Single Malt whisky produced by the Bruichladdich distillery. This limited-edition whisky, distilled in 2002 and bottled in 2011, commemorates the historical Port Charlotte distillery on Islay, which ceased operations in 1929. It was aged for 9 years in oak casks and has a total outturn of 6000 bottles.
The whisky has an alcohol by volume of 59.2% and is part of the 'An Ataireachd Ard' bottling series. The name 'An Ataireachd Ard' is Gaelic for 'The Surge of the Sea,' indicative of the maritime influences on the whisky's profile.
